Something Old…

Posted on Tuesday 10 April 2007

There is one wedding tradition everyone has heard of, but not everything knows what it means. It is believed that when the bride brings four items to her wedding she'll have a lucky marriage. The items should be

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

"Something old" is needed to remind the bride of her origin and that she has a family who loves her.

"Something new" is a symbol of your marriage and that now a new chapter of her life will start.

To "borrow something" is said to borrow the luck and happiness of the person, thus the item has to be returned later.

And finally "something blue" derives from the bible and means love, purity and fidelity.
