Disneyland Theme

Posted on Wednesday 10 January 2007

A wedding devoted to a Disney-theme is an unconventional way to celebrate the big day for sure. But it’ll be great fun and the Disney universe with its wide range of loveable and popular characters not only brings the childhood of the guests alive, but opens up a lot of possibilities. Will Donald conquer Daisy’s’ heart? Or will Mickey and Minnie head of to their honeymoon? And do not forget about the beauty and the beast, Cinderella and the tens of dozens other characters and stories you could use to pep up your wedding reception. If you really go for it, you even can get married in Disney World, although it is expensive.

Here are some ideas to get your mind started when you consider celebrating a Disney theme wedding:

  • Watch Disney movies like “The Beauty and the Beast” to find inspiration for the brides wedding dress, the brides-maid dresses and the tuxedo for the groom.

  • Dress up bride and groom as Minnie and Mickey or Cinderella and Prince Charming

  • Find your musical entertainment with the help of the many original soundtracks from the different Disney movies. You will find a lot of great and romantic songs on them.

  • Book an entertainer wearing a Disney costume. The kids will love it.

  • Use bright and colourful decoration all over the place

  • Get Disney merchandise for the table decoration. There are candles in the shape of Mickey, napkins printed with Aladdin and Jasmine on, -and do not forget about the balloons with the face of Donald on them. And there are just so many more things you could use.

  • Decorate the venue like a palace and build thrones for the bridal pair

  • Dress up the little ones like Tinkerbelle (girls) or Huey, Dewey and Louie (boys)
  • Use the name of Disney’s movies as table names. Decorate each table according to the movie and use the fitting Disney figures as centrepieces.
  • Let your imagination fly

I hope these ideas have got you started. If you do a little brainstorming with your partner and some friends, you sure will get a lot more great ideas in no time.
